Recent Accolades and Recognition

Music’s ultimate rewards are the musical experience itself and the enduring friendships formed between musicians.  However, the additional extrinsic rewards of participation in the Scoggins Bands are abundant and distinguished.  Congratulations to all the Scoggins Band musicians on these tremendous musical accomplishments!

  1.   Two Scoggins Band alumni have been accepted into the Texas All-State Bands: Wesley (1st chair 4A Band) and Andrew (15th chair 5A Symphonic Band)!

  1.   Congratulations to the 30 Scoggins Band students who were accepted into the TMEA Region 24 All-Region Bands!  Special recognition goes to Bridget, who placed 1st chair in the region!

  1.   Kudos to the 22 Scoggins Band students who attended the annual West Texas A&M Band Camp this summer!  Extra special congrats go to Brittney (bassoon) and Haley (euphonium), who placed 1st chair on their instrument out of all of the middle school students at camp.  Way to go!

  1.   Two Scoggins Band alumni have been accepted into the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra: Andrew on clarinet and Mason on tuba.  Congratulations!

  1.   Congratulations to the Concert Band and Symphonic Band on their successful UIL and PEAK contest results!
